Today is a big day for us. Our journey begins to share what we learn on media sustainability and access to trustworthy news for everyone, here! Good News and Stuff Policy Centre is an emerging initiative created by two soon-to-be PhDs, Ömer Şahin and Dylan Thurgood, working on sustainable and independent media, disinformation, and democracy.

You can call us Good News and Stuff, or simply GNS. Rooted into the Media Wallet project as part of the Europaeum Scholars Programme, GNS is our space to share our perspective on the media-related challenges of today: misinformation and disinformation, media funding, declining trust, news avoidance and other structural changes in news consumption habits, platform power, and the future of journalism.

We are still building what GNS will become. It may grow into a policy lab, a research initiative, an NGO, think tank, or something in between. For now, its purpose is simple: to identify important problems in the media landscape, offer a clear perspective on them, and share practical ideas for what could be done.

We want to produce research-informed, policy-relevant analysis, informative for experts but also accessible to anyone interested. Stay tuned for our bi-monthly reports that analyse the challeges against sustainable journalism, and our solution proposals!
